Craniosacral Massage
Cranialsacral therapy (CST) is a gentle, noninvasive form of bodywork that addresses the bones of the head, spinal column and sacrum. The goal of caranialsacral massage therapy is to release compression which alleviates stress and pain. Therapists use soft touch to release restrictions in the craniosacral system in order to improve the functioning of the central nervous system.
A typical session lasts 1 hour. The client is dressed and lies on their back. The therapist first conducts an evaluation by placing their hands at certain -listening stations” on the body. After this the therapist begins to apply light pressure to key areas of the body. As the session goes on you’ll find yourself becoming more relaxed and coming to a state of peace. Emotional release can sometimes occur with this technique.
Craniosacral therapy is considered “holistic” because it tries to prevent illness and dysfunction by viewing the entire body as a whole. It attempts to cater to the physical, mental, and emotional needs of the patient.
