Connective Tissue Massage (CTM) is a dynamic approach to bodywork that it involves working with the body’s fascia, or soft tissue, to relieve pain, tightness, and discomfort. The idea behind connective tissue massage is that restriction in one area of the body negatively affects other areas of the body.
The techniques used in connective tissue massage are borrowed from traditional Swedish massage but, the pressure applied is much more intense.
During treatment therapists “hook” their fingers into the connective tissue and utilize pulling strokes in order to stretch and manipulate the area. No massage oil or lotion is used and we ask that the client not put any lotion on if they are coming for a session.
